Bradford Olson (2017 Cohort): From Beijing to NYC Firms

Allison Malmsten (2017 Cohort): Global Career in Shanghai

Graduated in 2017, Flagship alumna Allison Malmsten （麦小鱼）now holds a Media and Marketing Manager position at a consulting and market research firm Daxue Consulting based in Shanghai. Reflecting back on her experience, Allison believes her year of studying abroad led to tremendous personal growth: “The Flagship Program was my pathway to intimately understanding Chinese culture. Although it was ever-challenging, the program flung me on this ever-rewarding path of becoming a China Hand.”

Sophia Dooly (2020 Cohort): From “Mulan” to Yenching Scholar

During her childhood, Sophia Dooly（董韩亚）enjoyed watching Disney’s animated film “Mulan” and television series “Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese Cat”. Through these interests, she became fascinated by Chinese history and culture. Since then, visiting the Forbidden City in Beijing became one of her greatest childhood dreams. At that age, Sophia did not realize that one day she would not only visit the Forbidden City three times but also engage in historical research around the documents of the Qing-era Imperial Household Department, and become a Yenching Academy scholar after graduating from Flagship.
